The 6th edition of Lymphedema Village (2022), promoted by ITALF and strongly desired by its president Sandro Michelini, ended a few days ago. The nonprofit summer campus for patients with Lymphedema, was held as always in Viggianello in the beautiful Pollino Park in Basilicata.
As has become a tradition, patients with chronic lymphedema, primary or secondary, from various regions of Italy shared a week together with health professionals in the field, during which in addition to informative moments, support with physical therapy, psychological support, and dietary programs designed for each individual patient, beautiful and unrepeatable moments of confrontation and sharing of the problems of the disease were recreated that enriched patients and operators.
Traditional walks in the woods, aquatrekking in the streams, and evenings of dance singing and games rounded out the jam-packed Program of activities and gave everyone moments of fun and enjoyment creating further unity and joyful empathy.
The local community also participated in the event, supporting it with sympathy and conviction; Representatives of the Viggianello Mayor and City Council awarded the winning team of the games held during the Campus.
Due and heartfelt thanks to the President of ITALF, Sandro Michelini who shared a few days with us, to the wonderful Physiotherapists Dr. Fabio and Dr. Daniela who brought so much sympathy and professionalism, to the precious and irreplaceable Nutritionists Dr. Marianna and Dr. Gino, to the operators of the Hotel il Boschetto where the event was held who gave unconditional availability.
A final thanks must also be given to the Juzo, Naturalbradel and Cizetamedicali Companies that with their spontaneous contributions contributed to the success of the event.
